Youth Dal Leader Electrocuted in Kurigram

A local Youth Dal leader died after being electrocuted in Rajarhat Upazila, Kurigram, on Saturday morning. The deceased, Nazmul Islam Nayan, 45, was the president of Ward No. 8 Youth Dal under Nazim Khan Union. He was the son of Abdul Hakim, a resident of the Samanarayan Palashpur area.

Local sources said the accident occurred around 11:00 AM while Nayan was operating an irrigation pump on his farmland. He was electrocuted during the process and died on the spot.

The sudden death has cast a shadow of grief over the area.

Mamunur Rashid, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajarhat Police Station, confirmed the incident. He stated that an unnatural death (UD) case has been filed, and the body has been handed over to the family for burial following legal formalities.
