Youth hacked to death in Jhalakathi's Rajapur; Tension mounts

A young man named Milan was hacked to death by a group of assailants in the Adakhola area of Rajapur upazila, Jhalakathi, on Saturday afternoon. The brutal killing has sparked panic and tension across the locality.

According to local sources, the attack was fueled by a long-standing enmity. The assailants intercepted Milan and attacked him indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured. He succumbed to his wounds while being rushed to the hospital by local residents.

Upon receiving the news, police arrived at the scene to restore order. The body has been sent to the Jhalakathi Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajapur Police Station stated that an investigation is underway to determine the exact motive behind the murder. "We are conducting drives to apprehend those involved in the killing," the OC added.

A pall of gloom has descended on the area following the incident. The grieving family and relatives have demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the killers. Residents have urged the administration to take swift action to prevent further violence in the region.
