Father-in-law Arrested for Rape in Jhalakathi

Police have arrested a man for allegedly raping his daughter-in-law at Ishwarkathi village in Nalchiti Upazila. The accused, Nuru Sardar, was taken into custody following a formal complaint.

According to Nalchiti Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ariful Alam, the victim alleged that Sardar had been intimidating and pressuring her for a long time by exploiting their family relationship. After the assault, the victim informed her family and local residents, leading to the police report. The victim is the wife of Russell Sardar, a resident of the same village.

Police conducted a raid immediately after the case was filed and apprehended the suspect. "The complaint is being investigated with the utmost seriousness, and we are following all necessary legal procedures," said OC Ariful Alam. The accused is currently being interrogated.
