A new committee of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir at Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) has been announced, with Md. Redwan appointed as president and Md. Ashikur Rahman as general secretary for 2026.

The announcement was made on Friday night (April 3) through the official Facebook page of PSTU Chhatra Shibir.

According to the announcement, Md. Redwan, a residential student of Bijoy 24 Hall from the 2019–20 session under the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, has been selected as president. Md. Ashikur Rahman, a residential student of M. Keramat Ali Hall from the 2020–21 session under the Faculty of Fisheries, has been appointed as general secretary.

Reacting to his appointment, newly elected president Md. Redwan said, "We are firmly committed to working for the welfare of students based on the ideals, ethics, and discipline of our organisation. Alongside making educational, moral development, and social service activities more dynamic, we will actively work to protect students’ rights. Building on past achievements, our goal is to establish a strong and effective organisation through coordination."

General Secretary Md. Ashikur Rahman said, "Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir is a dynamic organisation. In continuation of that legacy, we will strive to fulfil the responsibilities entrusted to us. We will work to make our beloved campus PSTU education-friendly, student-friendly, drug-free, and safe. At the same time, Chhatra Shibir will play a leading role in addressing students’ problems, Insha’Allah."

The newly elected leaders stated that they would work for the overall welfare of students alongside implementing the organisation’s ideals and would take initiatives to create a positive, tolerant, and constructive environment on campus. They also sought cooperation from all students, well-wishers, and concerned stakeholders of the university.
