Police recovered 32 kg of Marijuana during a raid in Sonargaon Upazila, Narayanganj, on Friday night. Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Sonargaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Muhibbullah conducted the operation at approximately 8:00 pm. The narcotics were found hidden in the back of a private car parked in a garage at Abdul Karim Bepari’s house in Jangal village.
The suspected drug dealer, identified as Emon, fled the scene before the raid and remains at large. Police confirmed that the vehicle and the drugs have been seized, and a manhunt is underway to arrest the suspect.
OC Md. Muhibbullah, who recently declared a "war on drugs" in the region, urged public cooperation to eradicate narcotics. Through social media and community meetings at local mosques, he has called on residents to unite under the slogan: "We will also be soldiers in the war against drugs."
The successful recovery has been widely welcomed by the local community as part of a broader effort to ensure a drug-free society.
