Chattogram Board SSC Result a Disaster; Pass Rate Drops to 59.48%

The pass rate in this year's SSC and equivalent examinations under the Chattogram Education Board has fallen sharply to 59.48 percent down from 72.70 percent last year. Results were published Monday morning.

A total of 77,453 students passed this year, compared to 1,01,181 last year. The number of students securing GPA-5 also dropped from 11,843 last year to 9,398 this year.

Group-wise results show declines across the board. The science group recorded an 84.41 percent pass rate down from 92.57 percent last year. Business studies fell to 60.12 percent from 73.54 percent. Humanities saw the steepest drop with the pass rate falling to 38.79 percent from 55.02 percent last year.

This year 1,30,668 students sat the examinations under the board including 56,325 male and 74,343 female candidates.
