Pahartali Textiles Limited (PTL) a 100% export-oriented spinning mill under the Ispahani Group has been awarded the prestigious LEED Platinum certificate by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for its Unit-2 facility.

The certificate was officially handed over to Ispahani Group Chairman Mirza Salman Ispahani by Mahendra Jayalath Chairman of the Green Building Council Sri Lanka at a ceremony in Chattogram on August 9.

This top-tier certification recognizes PTL’s steadfast commitment to environmentally responsible production. Key sustainable practices at the facility include utilizing energy-efficient machinery renewable solar power, and sourcing 70 percent of raw materials from eco-friendly suppliers. The factory premises also feature over 12,000 trees, an exhaust gas recycling system from captive generators and a 1-million-liter rainwater harvesting facility.

Established in 1954 Pahartali Textiles has long played a vital role in Bangladesh's textile sector. The company currently employs 1,800 workers across five modern production units, manufacturing roughly 23,000 metric tons of yarn annually. This LEED Platinum milestone not only elevates the company’s appeal to global apparel brands but also marks a significant step forward for sustainable industrial management in Bangladesh.

The handover event was attended by Ispahani Group Managing Director Mirza Shakir Ispahani Director Mirza Ahmed Ispahani Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Engineer Belayet Hossain alongside prominent industrialists bankers and sustainability consultants.
