Coast Guard Seizes 30kg Marijuana in Bhola Arrests One

The Bangladesh Coast Guard seized 30 kilograms of marijuana and arrested a suspected drug dealer during a targeted raid in Bhola on Saturday afternoon.

Acting on a tip-off a Coast Guard unit intercepted a suspicious microbus around 4:00 PM near Sonadugi in the East Ilisha area under Bhola Sadar Police Station. Upon searching the vehicle officers recovered the contraband, which has an estimated street value of Tk 12 lakh.

Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan confirmed the details of the operation. The arrested suspect was identified as Md. Abul Kalam Azad Majhi 50 son of Md. Hashem Majhi hailing from Banghata in Patuakhali district.

Authorities are currently preparing to take legal action against the suspect and the seized evidence is being processed for formal handover to the police.
