Several Taylor Swift songs have been removed from social media videos posted by President Donald Trump's campaign and the White House which had used two of her tracks over the past week. Neither the White House nor a Swift representative responded to requests for comment.

Taylor Swift endorsed Trump's 2024 Democratic rival Kamala Harris has not commented on Trump recently though the two have clashed publicly for years. Trump previously wrote "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!" after her endorsement and mocked her popularity in a later post. Swift herself said in 2020 that Trump was "WELL AWARE we do not want him as our president."

Swift joins a growing list of artists like Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande also have asked the Trump administration to stop using their music without permission.

The Trump campaign had used Swift's songs on TikTok at least three times recently with a caption playing on her lyrics referencing Republicans and immigration and a June video set to her "Toy Story 5" track "I Knew It, I Knew You" showing Trump with children and at public events; and an April White House video using "High Infidelity" to mark an Artemis II astronaut visit.

A November TikTok video using Swift's "The Fate of Ophelia" showed U.S. flags, monuments and Trump photos, including his 2023 arrest mugshot. That post drew heavy social media backlash, with a White House spokesperson later saying it was designed knowing media outlets would widely share it.

Trump's team frequently pairs popular songs with content on his immigration policies, military action against Iran and the arrest of former Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.
