


Kazi Mohammad Jamirul Islam Momtaz has been awarded the Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Smriti Golden Award-2026 by the Jagadish Chandra Bose Research Welfare Council. The honor recognizes his long-standing dedication to social service, human rights and his exemplary public service as a Muslim Marriage and Divorce Registrar (Kazi) in Joykals Union Shantiganj.
The award was formally presented on July 6, 2026 at the Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad Auditorium in Dhaka. Signed by Bangladesh Human Rights Cultural Society leaders the certificate highlights his honesty, commitment to social harmony, and dedication to human welfare.
Responding to the honor Momtaz expressed gratitude and stated the recognition would inspire him to continue serving the community with transparency and responsibility. Well-wishers across various professional spheres have congratulated him on this milestone.
Momtaz holds numerous community leadership roles in Sunamganj. He serves as President of the Mahmudpur Dakhil Madrasa Managing Committee General Secretary of both the local Jame Mosque and Haji Akram Ali Orphanage and is an active Advisor to the Shantiganj Press Club.
This recent accolade adds to an extensive history of civic recognition. In 2026 alone, he received the Nelson Mandela Peace Award and the May Day Memorial Award. Previously he was honored with the Independence Memorial Award (2024) and uniquely recognized by FIVDB and PKSF for his proactive role in preventing child marriage within his jurisdiction.
