Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 1,989 Indian narcotic tablets and 27 bottles of foreign liquor.

Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 1,989 Indian narcotic tablets and 27 bottles of foreign liquor during three separate anti-smuggling drives in Dinajpur's Fulbari upazila.

The operations were conducted on Saturday night by teams from the Manipur BGB Camp, Tapsi Permanent Post and Banatara Special Camp, all operating under the Fulbari 29 BGB Battalion.

According to a press release issued by the battalion on Sunday, the contraband was smuggled across the border into Bangladesh. Authorities estimated the total market value of the seized drugs and liquor at Tk 1,99,620.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Arif-uz-Zaman, Commander of the Fulbari Battalion (29 BGB) confirmed the seizures. He reiterated the border guard's commitment to maintaining zero tolerance against drug trafficking.

"These operations will continue to prevent the entry of narcotics and contraband goods through our borders. Alongside confiscating illegal items, we are intensifying our efforts to identify and arrest the individuals involved in these smuggling rings" the commander stated.
