RAB Arrests Man with 36 Liters of Foreign Liquor in Patenga

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) arrested a man and seized 36 liters of foreign liquor during a raid in the city's Patenga area early Tuesday.

The operation took place around 1:30 am at a residence in Dakshin Patenga Madhyampara. Acting on a tip-off regarding illegal narcotics storage, the RAB team apprehended 40-year-old Md. Shahabuddin.

During a search of his home, officers recovered 36 bottles of foreign liquor hidden in plastic bags under a bed. The estimated market value of the seizure is approximately 1.08 lakh.

According to RAB, Shahabuddin had been smuggling foreign liquor via waterways for an extended period, distributing it to wholesale and retail buyers across Chattogram.

ARM Mozaffar Hossain, Assistant Superintendent of Police and Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-7, confirmed that the suspect has been handed over to Patenga Model Police Station for legal proceedings.
