The Marishya Battalion (27 BGB) has completely restored and repainted a dilapidated Shaheed Minar at Tulaban High School in Rangamati’s Baghaichhari upazila. The newly renovated language martyrs' monument was formally inaugurated on Sunday.

The initiative began on August 2 when the Marishya Zone Commander visited the school and noticed the poor condition of the memorial. Recognizing the monument's historical significance, he immediately ordered its restoration. Under the direct supervision of BGB personnel, the structural repairs and painting were completed within days also giving the memorial a vibrant and respectful new look.

"The Shaheed Minar is a unique symbol of our Language Movement martyrs' sacrifices. Preserving it is vital to keeping their memory alive for the younger generation" the Zone Commander stated. He expressed hope that the renewed monument would foster deeper patriotism and respect for the nation's history among the students, adding that the BGB remains committed to continuing such community welfare initiatives.

Teachers, students and local residents thanked the border guards for their swift action. They noted that the restored memorial not only beautifies the school campus but also actively reconnects the students with the spirit of the Language Movement.
