


Local political leaders and law enforcement officials in Baghaichhari, Rangamati have called for a unified public effort to eradicate drug abuse and terrorism from the community.
The appeal was made during an anti-drug awareness meeting held on Saturday. The event was jointly organized by the Baghaichhari Union BNP (No. 32) and the Baghaichhari Municipality BNP (Ward No. 9) to address the growing threat of narcotics in the region.
Baghaichhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nasir Uddin Majumder attended the event as the chief guest, while Union BNP President Nurul Haque presided over the session.
Addressing the gathering, speakers highlighted that drug addiction is a severe social disease that destroys individuals, families and society as a whole, with the youth being particularly vulnerable. They emphasized that law enforcement agencies cannot solve the crisis alone citizens from all walks of life must step forward to raise awareness and build strong social resistance.
Special guests at the event included Baghaichhari Municipality BNP President Haji Nizam Uddin Babu and Upazila BNP President Omar Ali. Other notable attendees included Upazila BNP General Secretary Jabedul Alam, Senior Vice President Abul Kalam Azad and Organizing Secretary Badiul Alam with local residents.
The meeting concluded with a collective pledge from all attendees to work collaboratively in building a peaceful, terror-free and drug-free society.
