Bangladesh Railway has formed a committee on Saturday (October 4th) afternoon. Earlier in the morning, an accident took place near Moglabazar railway station in Sylhet. Train services are normal at 9am. No casualties were reported in the incident, but some passengers were lightly injured, local sources said.Nurul Islam said that after the accident, the rescue team of the railway reached the spot and started repairing the line.
At that time, the train services on the Dhaka-Sylhet route were halted for several hours and the schedule of several trains, including the Chittagong-bound Paharika Express, was a disaster.
He said the four-member probe committee formed on the orders of the Divisional Railway Manager of the Railway has been asked to submit its report within the next three working days.
According to Sylhet Railway sources, the committee has started work to investigate the cause of the accident. Initially, it was thought that the accident occurred as the wheel of a coach behind the train engine was derailed. However, the cracks, signal faults or mechanical failures of the railway will be examined.
