Three people, including two of my brothers, were killed in a collision between a train and a pick-up carrying workers from a jute mill in Boalmari, Faridpur. 10 people were injured. 5 of the injured have been sent to Faridpur. 5 people have been admitted to the Upazila Health Complex. The accident occurred at the Sotashi rail gate of the upazila on Monday afternoon.
It is learned that at around 2:30 pm that day, a Bhatiapara-bound local train leaving Kalukhali from Sotashi Dhala Huzur's house hit a pick-up carrying workers from Janata Jute Mill while crossing the rail gate. The pick-up twisted and fell on its side. In this accident, two sons of Sayfar Molya of Bilkarail village of Moyna Union, a worker of Janata Jute Mill, Md. Jabbar Molya, Md. Mucha Molya and Jahanara Begum, wife of Abul Kalam of the same village, were killed. Five people who were seriously injured in the incident have been sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. The remaining five people have been admitted to the Upazila Health Complex.
