The government has reassigned responsibilities across several ministries, giving new portfolios to eight state ministers, including State Minister for Education Bobby Hajjaj.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification on Wednesday (March 4) confirming the changes.
Under the new arrangement, Bobby Hajjaj will now oversee only the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Previously, he was responsible for both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
Several other ministers have also seen changes in their portfolios:
Md. Shariful Alam has been assigned the Ministry of Textiles and Jute. He previously oversaw the ministries of Commerce, Industry, and Textiles and Jute.
Sultan Salahuddin Tuku will now lead the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. He earlier handled Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock, and Food.
Habibur Rashid has been given charge of the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, reducing his previous responsibilities that also included Shipping.
Md. Rajib Ahsan has been assigned the Ministry of Shipping and Bridges.
Md. Jonayed Abdur Rahim Saki is now State Minister for Planning. He previously held responsibilities for Finance and Planning.
Farzana Sharmin will lead the Ministry of Social Welfare instead of both Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare.
Md. Nurul Haque has been assigned the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, relieving him of Labour and Employment.
The reshuffle reduces overlapping responsibilities and redistributes key ministries among state ministers.
