Police Seize 805 Litres of Homemade Liquor in Naogaon

Police recovered potato liquor along with liquor-making equipment during an anti-drug raid in Porsha, Naogaon on Monday evening.

The operation was conducted in the tribal area of Desipara village under Moshidpur union, led by Officer-in-Charge Ziaur Rahman as part of an ongoing anti-drug campaign directed by Police Super Mohammad Tariqul Islam.

Acting on intelligence, police searched the homes of identified drug dealers Laxman Murmu, Suman Kisku and Arti Hasda. The raid uncovered 805 litres of brewing liquor and 8 litres of finished potato liquor, stored in 27 large silver pails and 9 plastic buckets.

OC Ziaur Rahman said necessary samples were preserved under the Narcotics Control Act while the remaining liquor was destroyed on the spot in front of locals as it was unsafe to transport or store.

A case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act, and the accused are currently absconding. Police said efforts to arrest them are ongoing and the anti-drug operation will continue with public cooperation.
