Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram received his first ceremonial salute and held his first official engagements at Bangabhaban on Monday after taking charge.
Arriving at Bangabhaban around 11:15 am and he was welcomed at the main gate by a mounted contingent of the President Guard Regiment (PGR), which escorted him to the venue for the Guard of Honour. A smartly turned-out PGR unit presented the ceremonial guard, while a combined military band from the Army, Navy and Air Force played a welcome tune.
Following the ceremony, senior officials President's Military Secretary Major General A S M Bahauddin, Public Division Secretary Khan Md Nurul Amin, Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam, and Assistant Military Secretary Brigadier General Mohammad Raisul Islam greeted the Acting President with floral bouquets at Bangabhaban's Octagonal.
Hafiz Uddin Ahmad then proceeded to his office, where he exchanged greetings with senior officials. The Military Secretary and Public Division Secretary briefed him on matters related to Bangabhaban.
