The Primary Scholarship Examination was finally held on Saturday, nearly four months after the end of the 2025 academic year.
The delay forced students to juggle their new Class VI curriculum with scholarship preparations, sparking concerns over academic pressure.
State Minister for Primary and Mass Education, Bobby Hajjaj, addressed these concerns during a visit to the Mannan Government Primary School examination center in Jatrabari. He blamed the delay on the previous interim government’s inability to conduct the test in time.
"We did not want to stop this process as it encourages both students and parents. We decided to hold it immediately after taking office," the State Minister said, adding that exams will return to the regular schedule from next year.
The Minister also hinted at potential policy changes, including increasing the number of participants and the scholarship amount. Regarding the "coaching business," he reiterated the government’s tough stance, announcing that new policies to curb commercial coaching are currently being piloted.
Infrastructure improvements are also underway through projects like 'PEDP-4' and 'Visionandan,' focusing on modernizing classrooms, washrooms, and school furniture.
