Two Pharmacies Fined for Drug Law Violations in Morelganj

A mobile court in Morelganj, Bagerhat fined two pharmacies Tamim Medical and Taj Pharmacy Tk 10,000 each on Tuesday for violating drug regulations.

Executive Magistrate Atish Sarkar handed down the fine around 11 am, with support from District Drug Administration Superintendent Md. Fazlul Haque and a team from Morelganj Police Station.

Fazlul Haque said the pharmacies, located near Morelganj Upazila Health Complex, were operating without valid drug licenses. Inspectors also found expired medicines on the shelves and discovered that the shops lacked refrigeration needed to store temperature-sensitive drugs. Additionally, physician sample medicines meant only for doctors, not for sale were being sold to customers.

Citing these violations the mobile court fined each pharmacy Tk 10,000.
