A brick kiln worker died after being electrocuted in Lohagara upazila of Narail on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1:00 PM at Mannan Molya’s brick kiln in Ariara village. The deceased, Dawood Gazi (50), was a resident of Garikhali village in Paikgachha, Khulna. He had been working at the kiln for a long time alongside his wife and son.

According to witnesses, the accident happened when Dawood attempted to switch on an electric water pump. Because his body was wet at the time, he received a severe electric shock. Fellow workers rescued him and rushed him toward the Lohagara Upazila Health Complex, but he passed away en route.

The tragic death has cast a shadow of mourning over the local worker community.

Ajit Kumar Roy, Inspector (Investigation) of Lohagara Police Station, stated that an unnatural death case has been filed. "The body will be handed over to the family once the necessary legal formalities are completed," he added.
