


National Nutrition Week has begun in Muksudpur Gopalganj with a focus on reducing nutritional inequality and building a healthier, self-reliant Bangladesh. The inauguration took place (April 23) at the Upazila Health Complex conference room.
The program was organized by the Institute of Public Health and implemented by the Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer and President of the Upazila National Nutrition Committee, Mahmud Ashiq Kabir attended as chief guest. He stressed the importance of improving nutrition awareness at all levels.
The event was chaired by Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Raihan Islam Shovon, who also serves as Member Secretary of the committee. Medical Officer Dr. Dip Saha conducted the session.
Speakers from various sectors highlighted the need to strengthen grassroots awareness. Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Mizanur Rahman, Police Inspector (Investigation) Md. Matiar Molla, Janata Bank Muksudpur Branch Manager Enamul Hasan, Muksudpur Press Club President Md. Siru Mia and General Secretary Kazi Md. Wahidul Islam, among others.
After the discussion, the chief guest formally inaugurated the programme. A colourful rally was held around the Health Complex creating enthusiasm among participants.
Officials said several activities are planned throughout the week. These include drawing competitions for students in classes 3 to 10 and quiz contests for classes 6 to 10 on Saturday. A discussion on nutrition for mothers and children will be held on Monday, followed by the closing ceremony on Wednesday.
