PM Orders Ansar to Maintain Readiness for Sovereignty and Security

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has directed the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) to remain at maximum readiness to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty while ensuring public peace and security.

The instructions were issued Wednesday morning during a meeting between the Prime Minister and Ansar-VDP Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon briefed the state-run news agency BSS, noting that the Prime Minister highly praised the force for its patriotism and professional dedication.

During the discussion, the Prime Minister emphasized that the force must continue its commitment to public service and remain vigilant in its duty to protect the state. In response, Director General Major General Sajjad Mahmud updated the Prime Minister on the ongoing developmental initiatives and operational activities of the Ansar and VDP.
