The Coast Guard has arrested 20 people, including a large quantity of behundi nets and 2 illegal artisanal trawling boats, in a raid in Dularhat of Char Fashion Upazila.

On Thursday (January 1), at around 5 pm, Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam ul Haque confirmed this information and said that based on a secret tip-off, at 4 am on January 1, Coast Guard Outpost Charmanika conducted a special operation in the area adjacent to Maya Bridge in Ahmedpur under Dularhat Police Station of Bhola and seized 2 illegal artisanal trawling boats.

After searching the seized trawling boats, 20 fishermen were arrested along with 7 illegal behundi nets worth about 3 lakh 50 thousand taka. The trawling gear of the seized boat was removed in the presence of the Upazila Fisheries Officer. And the process of taking further legal action against the detained persons along with the seized boats and nets is under process.
