


A four-month-old baby named Abdullah, who was in his mother's lap, was killed in a head-on collision between a CNG and a Nasimon on the Bhola-Ilisha road.
The accident occurred on Tuesday (December 30) afternoon in the area adjacent to the Burir Mosque in Sadar Upazila of Bhola. The child is the son of Manjurul Alam of Ward No. 2 of Purba Ilisha Union of the same upazila.
Locals and police said that a high-speed CNG was heading towards the Ilisha launch ghat from Bhola Sadar with passengers. A Nasimon was coming towards Bhola Sadar from the other direction. When the CNG and the Nasimon reached the Burir Mosque area, the CNG overturned in a head-on collision. At that time, a woman and a child in the CNG and another passenger were seriously injured. Later, they were rescued and taken to the 250-bed Bhola General Hospital for treatment, where the doctor on duty declared the child among the injured dead.
Bhola Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Monirul Islam said, "A team of police from the police station went to the spot and the hospital after receiving the news. The driver could not be found. We have not received any complaint from the child's family yet. If we receive a complaint, further legal action will be taken."
