A private car lost control and fell into a canal on the side of the road in Shantiganj Upazila of Sunamganj. One person was seriously injured in the incident. He was rescued and sent to the hospital.

The accident occurred on the Sylhet-Sunamganj Regional Highway in the Naogaon village area of ​​Purba Pagla Union of Shantiganj Upazila at around 2 pm on Wednesday (January 14).

Eyewitnesses said that the speeding private car, Dhaka Metro-G 11-28-80, suddenly lost control and fell into a canal on the side of the road. After the accident, the front part of the car was completely twisted. The driver who was trapped inside was cut out.

On receiving the information, members of Joykals Highway Police Station and Fire Service reached the spot and conducted rescue operations. The injured person was rescued in critical condition and sent to the hospital. His condition is said to be critical. After the accident, the private car was seen lying in a ditch on the side of the road.

Joykals Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Suman Kumar Chowdhury said that after receiving information about the accident, the police quickly reached the spot and conducted rescue operations. The injured person has been sent to the hospital.
