Two killed, four injured in separate road accidents in Mirsarai

Two people were killed in two separate road accidents in Mirsarai upazila of Chattogram on Sunday (December 21). Four more were injured in the incidents.

A man named Kamal Uddin was killed and four others were injured in a U-turn road accident on the Dhaka-Tattagram highway at Bariyarhat on Sunday morning. Police said that four vehicles, including a motorcycle, pickup and truck, involved in the accident have been recovered.

In addition, around 12 noon on Sunday, an elderly woman named Afia (70) was crossing the road in the Sufi Road area on her way home after receiving treatment at a hospital. At that time, a speeding bus named Imperial Express hit her. When locals rescued her and took her to the hospital, the doctor on duty declared her dead.

Borhan Uddin, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Zorarganj Highway Police Outpost, said that the body of the deceased in the Bariyarhat accident has been recovered and the injured have been sent to the hospital. We have also received reports of an elderly woman being killed on Sufi Road. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
