A formal introductory meeting was held in Sariakandi, Bogra, for the newly appointed Upazila Executive Officer (UNO), Sumaiya Ferdous.
The gathering took place around 12 noon on Tuesday (December 9) in the meeting room of the Sariakandi Upazila Parishad. The UNO, Sumaiya Ferdous, chaired the meeting, which was moderated by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Atiqur Rahman, and used the opportunity to get acquainted with the diverse attendees.
The event saw participation and remarks from a wide range of dignitaries, including Freedom Fighters and July Fighters. Political figures, such as Principal Shahabuddin (Jamaat-e-Islami MP candidate for Bogra-1), Aminul Islam Hiru (CPB parliamentary candidate for Bogra-1), and Shahadat Hossain (Soni) (President of Sariakandi Municipal BNP), Officials, including the new Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sariakandi Police Station, Asaduzzaman, Public representatives like Karnibari Union Chairman, Anwar Hossain Dipan and Representatives from teachers, journalists (Press Club presidents), and local business associations. In her address, UNO Sumaiya Ferdous pledged to coordinate with people from all walks of life to make Sariakandi a "model upazila."
She also announced key priorities for her administration, including taking a strict stand against drugs, Creating awareness to stop child marriage, Improving law and order.
The event was also attended by various upazila departmental officers, including the Project Implementation Officer, Social Service Officer, Fisheries Officer, and others.
