In honor of the 7th death anniversary of the late freedom fighter Taramon Bibi Bir Pratik, who was awarded the national title in Kurigram, a Milad and Doa Mahfil took place at her home in the Kurigram district headquarters on Monday, December 1, 2025, following Zohr.

To mark the 7th death anniversary of the recently departed freedom fighter Taramon Bibi Bir Pratik, a significant figure in the history of the Liberation War, a Milad and Doa Mahfil was conducted at her residence located in the Araji Palashbari area of Holokhana Union in Kurigram Sadar Upazila. Prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the soul of the late Taramon Bibi, led by Imam Mao Abdullah Al Mahmud from Araji Palashbari Darus Salam Jame Mosque.

The Milad and prayer gathering, organized by the late freedom fighter Taramon Bibi Bir Protik's religious brother, Md. Hasen Ali, saw attendance from Alhaj Abdus Chobhan, the president of the managing committee of Araji Palashbari Darus Salam Jame Mosque, Muazzin Md. Ibrahim Khalil, former UP member Md. Maqbul Hossain, Faruk Ahmed, Abdus Salam, and various local civil society members.

It is important to highlight that Taramon Bibi from Kurigram is one of only two female freedom fighters in Bangladesh to have received the title of Bir Protik. During the Liberation War, she resided in her village Shankar Madhabpur in Kurigram district and fought in Sector No. 11, under the command of Abu Taher Bir Uttam. In 1973, the government honored Taramon Bibi with the title of "Bir Pratik" for her courageous contributions during the Liberation War. However, she remained unrecognized until 1995, when researcher Bimal Kanti Dey and Professor Abdus Sabur Faruqi successfully located her.

On December 19, 1995, in a simple ceremony, the then Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia officially awarded her the "Bir Pratik" medal along with state honors. Taramon Bibi has demonstrated that women are capable of not only managing the household but also excelling on the battlefield, wielding weapons, and safeguarding the nation.
