In an effort to create self-employment, 25 underprivileged women in Paikgachha Upazila were provided with sewing machines on Thursday.

Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury distributed the machines as the chief guest during a ceremony held at his office. The initiative was funded by the Annual Development Program (ADP) for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

During the distribution UNO encouraged the recipients to become self-reliant. “Our goal is for women to stop depending on others and instead change their fortunes through their own talent and hard work” he stated.

Upazila Parishad officials including CA Krishnapada Mandal and other local representatives were present at the event.
