


A health service inspection and "mother rally" were held on Wednesday in Nageshwari, Kurigram, to promote maternal and child healthcare in remote char areas.
Organized by the Upazila Family Planning Department with support from the non-governmental organization UNFPA, the event took place at Kapna Government Primary School grounds in Nunkhawa Union.
Speakers including UNFPA Chief of Communication Gulalek Saultanova, District Family Planning Deputy Director Mozammel Haque, and Upazila Family Planning Officer Anwar Hossain discussed critical health protection strategies for mothers and children living in isolated riverine regions. Other officials, including Ranju Mia and Jahangir Alam, also addressed the gathering.
Earlier that morning, the UNFPA delegation inspected the Nunkhawa Union Health Center to evaluate the quality of local healthcare delivery.
