


Bangladesh Open University (BOU) has penalized 40 students for adopting unfair means and violating disciplinary rules during recent examinations.
The punitive measures were finalized at the 55th meeting of the BOU Disciplinary Committee, held on Thursday morning at the Vice-Chancellor's office on the main campus in Gazipur. BOU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan presided over the session.
According to a university press release, the accused students face varying terms of punishment based on the severity of their misconduct and strictly in accordance with BOU's regulatory guidelines.
During the meeting, committee members reviewed current assessment procedures and put forward key recommendations to enhance exam discipline, transparency and overall accountability.
BOU authorities reiterated their zero-tolerance policy against exam irregularities. The administration emphasized that strict discipline and a fair evaluation system are fundamental to maintaining the quality and credibility of higher education in the country.
Among the key officials present at the meeting were Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof. Dr. Anisur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam and Controller of Examinations Md. Habibuliah Mahmud.
