


A special welfare meeting of Laxmipur district police was held Thursday at the District Police Lines and chaired by Superintendent of Police Md. Abu Tarek with Chittagong Range DIG Abdul Quddus Chowdhury PPM, attending as chief guest.
Officers, members and civil staff from various levels of district police attended the meeting which reviewed welfare issues alongside efforts to strengthen professional skills, discipline, honesty, accountability and people-friendly policing.
In his address DIG Chowdhury urged police members to perform their duties with dedication, honesty, humanity and professionalism, directing strict action against irregularities and misconduct. He also called for increased intelligence surveillance to curb drugs, terrorism, extortion, juvenile crime and cybercrime.
During the meeting, monetary awards and honours were presented to police members for outstanding contributions and success in their duties. The DIG later planted trees at the Police Lines premises to promote environmental balance and a green initiative.
