RAB Arrests Man Accused of Raping Schoolgirl in Bhola's Monpura

RAB has arrested Md. Sumon 27, the main accused in a case of raping a sixth-grade student in Monpura, Bhola. Sumon is the son of Md. Mostafa of Ishwarganj village in Monpura upazila.

RAB-8's Bhola camp commander Md. Mokhlesur Rahman confirmed the arrest on Thursday, saying a joint operation by RAB-8's Bhola camp, RAB-5 and CPC-2 detained Sumon in the Nayabazar area of Gurudaspur police station in Natore district on Wednesday evening, based on a secret tip-off.

According to case sources, the victim went to collect firewood near Sumon's kitchen on the evening of August 6 when he forced her inside and raped her. Her mother filed a case with Monpura police station four days after the incident.
