South Indian superstar Allu Arjun, who has built a broad audience across regional and Bollywood cinema, is now making waves with reports that Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Will Smith may join his upcoming project.
Indian media outlet Mid-Day reported that Smith is in discussions to play the primary antagonist in Raaka, a high-budget science fiction action film directed by Atlee Kumar. If finalized, Smith is expected to shoot his sequences at an international location.
Neither the production team behind Raaka nor Smith’s representatives have officially confirmed the casting. However, a source close to the project stated that producers are currently adjusting the production schedule to accommodate Smith’s availability, with custom costume designs already underway for his character.
The speculation surrounding Raaka extends beyond Hollywood. Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan is also heavily rumored to make an appearance, with reports suggesting he may join the set around September after wrapping production on his film King.
Public interest in Raaka escalated following the release of Allu Arjun’s first-look character reveal on his birthday. The teaser visual depicted the actor in a striking, non-human transformation, featuring a human face paired with animalistic claws.
The ensemble cast includes prominent actresses Deepika Padukone, Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor, and Mrunal Thakur.
Produced by Sun Pictures, the large-scale project features international technical crews and is slated for release next year. Audience expectations remain focused on whether Smith’s casting will be formally announced.
