Youth Killed by Train at Sadullapur Railway Station

A 23-year-old youth named Dipankar was killed after being hit by an intercity train at Kamarpara railway station in Sadullapur upazila, Gaibandha on Thursday.

The accident occurred around noon at the station platform. The victim son of Bhuttu Ram of Bhandara village in Dinajpur's Birol police station was reportedly crossing the railway line when he was struck by the Santahar-to-Burimari-bound Karatoya intercity train which was crossing another intercity train Dolanchapa at the station.

Kamarpara Station Master Rafiq said the youth died on the spot due to negligence while crossing the tracks.

Gaibandha Balasighat Railway Police Outpost In-charge Sahib Gani visited the scene and confirmed the incident. According to the victim's family, Dipankar who came from a poor household was traveling from home via Balasighat toward Dhaka to find work when the accident occurred.

Bonarpara Railway Police Station OC Mamun Hachan said a case of accidental death has been registered. As the family raised no objection, the body will be handed over to them without an autopsy.
