Jamaat holds iftar and discussion meeting in Tahirpur

An iftar and prayer meeting was held in Tahirpur Upazila of Sunamganj on the initiative of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

The programme took place at Shantipur Bazar on Tuesday (March 3). Maulana Tofail Ahmed Khan, Ameer of Sunamganj District Jamaat, attended as the chief guest.

The meeting was chaired by Maulana Bashir Uddin, Ameer of Uttar Barodal Union Jamaat, and moderated by Anwar Hossain, Assistant Secretary of Tahirpur Upazila Jamaat.

Speakers included Professor Rukon Uddin, Ameer of Tahirpur Upazila Jamaat; Selim Haider, Nayeb Ameer; Ruhul Amin, former general secretary of Tahirpur Upazila BNP and Jamaat leader; lawyer and journalist Mohsin Reza Manik; educationist Mosael Ahmed; Bahauddin, a teacher of Badaghat Government Degree College; and Jamaat leader Kamrul Islam, among others.

Maulana Bashir Uddin delivered the inaugural speech, highlighting the importance of unity, moral values and social responsibility.
