Over 2.70 Lakh Children in Lakshmipur to Receive Measles Vaccine

The Lakshmipur District Health Department has set a target to vaccinate 270,830 children against measles and rubella (MR) in a massive emergency campaign. The 11-day program is scheduled to begin on April 20.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Abu Hasan Shaheen shared the details during a briefing with journalists at his office on Saturday afternoon. The campaign targets children aged between 6 months and 5 years.

According to health department data, the distribution includes 97,404 children in Sadar Upazila, 38,652 in Raipur, 44,997 in Ramganj, 35,500 in Kamalnagar, 36,974 in Ramgati, and 17,323 within Lakshmipur Municipality.

To ensure full coverage, the vaccine will be administered across 1,584 centers. The operation will be managed by 183 supervisors, 200 health workers, and 400 volunteers.

Lakshmipur Press Club President AHM Mostaqur Rahman and other local media representatives were present at the briefing.
