Man Jailed for Producing Adulterated Milk in Pabna

Authorities confirmed the seizure of 200 liters of toxic jelly and the sentencing of Faruk Hossain under the Mobile Court Act.

A mobile court has sentenced a man to one year in prison and fined him Tk 1 lakh for producing fake milk using toxic chemicals in Bhangura, Pabna. The convict Faruk Hossain 40, is a resident of Singari village.

Acting on a tip-off, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mizanur Rahman conducted a raid on Faruk’s house on Friday. During the drive authorities seized 200 liters of harmful chemical jelly valued at approximately Tk 3.5 lakh, which was being used to manufacture the adulterated milk.

Investigations revealed that Faruk had been running the illegal operation under the guise of a dairy business for a long time. He allegedly used a mixture of toxic jelly, soybean oil, and other harmful ingredients to produce the liquid which was then supplied to various prominent milk chilling centers across the country.

Following his arrest the mobile court handed down the sentence and ordered the immediate public destruction of the seized chemicals.
