BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman issued a stern call to action on Saturday (January 31), warning party leaders and activists that the upcoming February 12 election will be a difficult battle requiring total unity.
During an exchange of views with grassroots leaders at a local hotel in Bogra, Tarique Rahman emphasized that traditional campaigning would not be enough. He instructed members to go door-to-door to seek votes for the "sheaf of paddy" symbol.
"You must reach voters at their doorsteps and act as the helmsmen of our symbol," he said. "This election will not be easy, and victory requires a collective effort."
The Chairman noted that his ability to stay in Bogra for an extended period is limited, urging local leaders to take greater ownership of the campaign. He asked activists to remain vigilant on polling day, ensure high voter turnout, and stay at the centers until official results are announced.
Tarique Rahman reaffirmed his deep connection to Bogra, citing the party's history of development and welfare activities in the district. He pledged that a BNP-led government would prioritize Bogra’s infrastructure and growth. "I know exactly what needs to be done and where," he assured the audience.
The meeting was primarily held to finalize campaign strategies for Tarique's candidacy in the Bogra-6 constituency. Following the session, he departed for Sirajganj later in the day.
