


The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has expelled three leaders of its Chattogram South District unit for activities that allegedly violated party policy, ideology and discipline.
The decision was announced in a press release signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday (January 21). The matter was also confirmed by BNP’s Chattogram Divisional Joint Organising Secretary, VP Harunur Rashid Harun.
Those expelled are Advocate Mizanul Haque Chowdhury, a rebel candidate in the Chattogram-14 constituency and former member of Chattogram South District BNP; Shafiqul Islam Rahi, former acting president of Chattogram South District Jubo Dal in the same constituency; and Liaqat Ali Chairman, former joint convener of Chattogram South District BNP and a rebel candidate in the Chattogram-16 constituency.
According to the press release, the action was taken to uphold party discipline and ensure organizational transparency.
The expelled leaders have been removed from all party posts, including primary membership, with immediate effect.
