Model and activist Farzana Sithi has collected a BNP nomination form for the reserved women’s seat in the 13th National Parliament. She picked up the application from the party’s central office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka, on Saturday morning.
Speaking briefly to journalists, Sinthi confirmed her candidacy for the Narail-2 constituency (Narail Sadar and Lohagara). While expressing optimism about securing the party's final ticket, she noted that a formal briefing would follow to provide further details.
Sinthi, originally from Jashore, has a background in social activism, having served as the General Secretary of the Barguna Sadar branch of 'The Hunger Project, Bangladesh.' She is also a student at the Government College of Applied Human Sciences.
She gained widespread public attention in August 2024 following a viral video involving a conversation with an army officer at Shahbagh Police Station. Beyond her activism, Sinthi has appeared as a model in music videos for popular singer Asif Akbar, including the tracks 'Ichhera' and 'Bepana Dil.'
