Several leaders and activists, including the ward BNP general secretary and associate publicity secretary, have left BNP in anger after being accused of being Jamaat during the day.
On Saturday afternoon, Jamaat greeted the leaders who joined Batisa Union in Chauddagram Upazila of Comilla with flowers. Union Jamaat Ameer Syed Rashidul Hasan Jahangir and the ward BNP general secretary Nur Islam Patwari confirmed the information in the evening.
Ward 7 BNP General Secretary Nur Islam Patwari and Assistant Publicity Secretary Delwar Hossain, who joined the local Nankara Ayesha Siddika Women's Madrasa auditorium, were welcomed with flowers by Bangladesh Workers Welfare Federation Central Vice President Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan, Jamaat leader Shawnewaz Kajal, Batisa Union Jamaat Ameer Syed Rashidul Hasan Jahangir, Secretary Motahar Hossain Molla, Chiora Union Jamaat Ameer Shahjalal Tipu, Secretary Humayun Kabir Sujan, Kankapait Union Jamaat Ameer Mao: Hasan Majumder, Jamaat leaders Abu Yusuf, Mahfuzur Rahman and others. Ward 7 BNP General Secretary Nur Islam Patwari of Nankara village, who joined Jamaat, said in the evening, "I joined Jamaat Islami with faith and remembrance of Allah." I was very ashamed when I was the ward secretary of BNP. I was fed up with various fights, clashes and trials.
There is no discipline, no sincerity among them. They do not respect each other. When I spend money and take people to various meetings, they insult me and say, who are you? You are Awami League etc. They belittle me by saying that you are BNP during the day and Jamaat at night etc. When I go to any event, there is no appreciation. That is why I applied for exemption from BNP a few days ago. Today I joined Jamaat with my team and strength.
Batisa Union Jamaat Ameer Syed Rashidul Islam Jahangir said in the evening that some people from BNP ward, including BNP General Secretary Nur Islam Patwary, joined after being inspired by Jamaat's ideology.
Chauddagram Upazila BNP General Secretary Engineer Shah Alam Raju said on Saturday evening, 'Those who joined, first joined Jamaat. Later, they joined the Awami League during the Awami League. Now they have joined Jamaat again. "There is no question of anyone from BNP joining Jamaat."
