Bangladesh Railway has started selling advance tickets for May 27, the final day of the outbound Eid-ul-Azha journey, assuming the festival falls on May 28. To ease passenger hassles, 100% of intercity train tickets are being sold online via the official app and website.

Tickets for western region trains went on sale at 8:00 AM today, Sunday (May 17). Sales for eastern region trains will commence at 2:00 PM.

Under the railway’s Eid action plan, advance tickets for the five days preceding Eid are being released systematically. Tickets for May 23, 24, 25, and 26 were sold between May 13 and 16, respectively. Sales for May 27 open today. Depending on the moon sighting, tickets for May 28, 29, and 30 will be made available later.

Passengers can purchase advance Eid tickets only once, with a maximum of four tickets per National ID (NID). These tickets are strictly non-refundable and non-returnable. However, to accommodate daily commuters and general passengers, standing (non-seated) tickets equivalent to 25% of the total capacity (excluding upper-class compartments) will be sold at station counters on the day of the journey.
