Bangladesh Railway has officially launched the sale of advance train tickets today, May 13, to facilitate a smooth journey for homebound passengers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. To curb the illegal sale of tickets and reduce station crowding, all advance seats are being sold exclusively online.

The sale is divided into two shifts to manage server load. Tickets for trains heading to the Western Zone became available this morning, while sales for the Eastern Zone began at 2:00 PM. Passengers can purchase tickets via the official Bangladesh Railway website or the ‘Rail Sheba’ app.

Sale Dates:

May 13: For travel on May 24

May 14: For travel on May 25

May 15: For travel on May 26

May 16: For travel on May 27

May 17: For travel on May 28 (and so on)

Restrictions

Each passenger can purchase a maximum of four tickets once. Please note that advance Eid tickets are non-refundable. While the majority of tickets are online, the railway will sell 25% of total seats (excluding upper class) as "standing tickets" from station counters on the day of the journey to accommodate last-minute travelers.

Sales for May 28–30 will be subject to the sighting of the moon.
