Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon announced on Wednesday that solar power plants will be installed in all educational institutions across Bangladesh. Speaking at a signing ceremony with Omera at Dhaka Residential Model College, the Minister emphasized that the government is committed to investing in education without budget constraints.
The initiative aligns with the national goal of producing 2,000 megawatts of solar power by 2030.
Beyond green energy, Dr. Milon addressed structural reforms to the academic calendar. He revealed plans to streamline the system, ensuring students complete their SSC examinations within 10 years and HSC examinations within 12 years of entering the school system.
"We are taking initiatives to remove bottlenecks in our education system," the Minister stated. He added that a high-level meeting is scheduled for today to discuss strategies for completing syllabi and holding public examinations on time to prevent any loss of academic years.
The Minister reaffirmed that prioritizing education is central to the government’s vision of developing a highly productive national workforce.
