Although urine infection is often a common infection, in some cases it can be a sign of a serious problem hidden inside. Many people take it for granted, but if you have a urine infection, you should take it seriously.
When can a urine infection be a sign of a serious disease?
1. If you have repeated urine infections: it may be an indication of diabetes, kidney stones, structural problems in the urinary tract, or prostate complications.
2. If you have fever, chills, and back pain in addition to burning: the infection may have spread to the kidneys—this is a serious problem.
3. If you see blood in the urine: not only an infection, but also the possibility of kidney stones, tumors, or bladder cancer.
4. In the case of diabetics: blood sugar is not under control—this can be a clear indication.
When should you not delay at all?
1. If symptoms do not subside even after 2–3 days of treatment 2. If you have severe fever, vomiting, or back/neck pain 3. If this happens during pregnancy
What to do?
1. Get a urine test and culture 2. Do not take antibiotics without a doctor's advice 3. Drink plenty of water 4. Keep sugar under control if you have diabetes 5. If it happens repeatedly, an ultrasound/additional test may be needed
