The Gono Sanghati Andolon has called a press conference to announce key organisational changes, including the removal of Zonayed Saki from the post of chief coordinator.

According to a press release issued on Friday, signed by central executive committee member Bachchu Bhuiyan, the press conference will be held on Saturday (April 4) at the party’s central office in Hatirpool, Dhaka.

Party leaders are expected to explain the reasons behind Saki’s removal and formally introduce the new acting chief coordinator.

Several senior leaders will attend the briefing, including executive coordinator Abul Hasan Rubel and political council members Dewan Abdur Rashid Nilu, Monir Uddin Pappu, Firoz Ahmed, Taslima Akhtar and Hasan Maruf Rumi.

Zonayed Saki was elected Member of Parliament from the Brahmanbaria-6 (Bancharampur) constituency in February. He was later appointed State Minister for Planning in the BNP-led government.

The announcement of his removal from the party’s top organisational post comes at a politically significant time, and further details are expected during the press conference.
