The government is committed to providing uninterrupted diesel and electricity to farmers to support jute, paddy, and maize cultivation during the current season.
State Minister for Water Resources, Farhad Hossain Azad, shared this during a press briefing at the Faridpur Water Development Board Rest House on Friday afternoon.
Addressing the global energy crisis, the Minister noted that while international oil prices have surged due to ongoing global conflicts, the government has worked to maintain stability.
"We are striving to ensure consistent supply, but we must remain vigilant against unscrupulous traders who may attempt to create artificial crises," the Minister stated. He urged local administrations to strictly monitor fuel distribution.
On the issue of regional development, the State Minister pledged intensified efforts to combat river erosion in Faridpur to protect local property. He further emphasized the government’s "zero-tolerance" policy regarding corruption in all development projects.
The briefing was attended by Faridpur-4 MP Shahidul Islam Babul, Faridpur-3 MP Nair Yusuf Ahmed, and senior officials from the Water Development Board and local administration.
